Short information on Orange Peel

"Do you consider your life to be normal?" "No". "Would you like it to be normal?" "Yes". The protagonist of the Serbian author Maja Pelevic's play "Orange Peel" would like nothing better: To be a normal woman.

And so she pursues all kinds of different female constructions – from a party girl to the model wife of a business-man, from a cyber chick to a single parent. In an abrupt sequence of formal open scenes she changes her identity like clothes, without ever finding herself: the self-applied images of women remain alien to her. Finally she believes to have found a genuine symbol of womanhood: Cellulite.
